Band-Aid

Invented by – Earle Dickson

In 1921, Earle Dickson invented the band-aid. It was created in response to Dickenson's wife's problem of nicks and burns while cooking in the kitchen. Dickson wanted to discuss his idea with his boss after seeing how effectively it worked for his wife. His boss immediately realised its potential. Soon after, Johnson & Johnson produced a small test run of BAND-AID® Brand adhesive bandages and sold them to pharmacists to evaluate how well they would sell. The first BAND-AID® Brand adhesive bandages were sold in 1921, and for the first few years, they were produced by hand and packaged exactly as Dickson had designed them—a roll that had to be cut with scissors.

Drive-in restaurant

Invented by – Kirby's Pig Stand

J.G. Kirby and Dr. Reuben W. Jackson revolutionized the restaurant business in 1921. The Texas Pig Stand, a barbeque-themed curbside service located off a busy highway in Dallas, Texas, was their first drive-in restaurant. "Tray guys" brought grilled pork and Coca-Colas to customers as they sat in their cars. A drive-in is a convenient option for consumers who want food or other services delivered to their car doors. At a drive-in restaurant, customers park their cars and are frequently served by employees who go to take orders and return with food, encouraging diners to stay parked while they eat. For moviegoers, drive-in theatres offer a large screen and a parking lot.

Lie Detector

Invented by – John A. Larson

John A. Larson invented the lie detector, sometimes known as the polygraph, in 1921. Larson came up with the idea for a gadget that noticed uneasiness as evidenced by variations in blood pressure, respiration, and pulse rates when a person was being questioned in the police department while studying interrogations. With its wide range of physiological markers, the equipment became known as the polygraph, which Larson perfected for forensic use in 1921. His system gave continuous blood pressure readings rather than the discontinuous readings obtained in Marston's device.

Headrest

Invented by – Benjamin Katz

Benjamin Katz created the headrest in 1921. He invented the headrest to keep people's heads from moving during collisions. During a car accident, the headrest was proven to prevent whiplash and other injuries to the cervical vertebrae. Katz also designed the headrest as an emergency method to break a window and escape out of the car in the event of an accident if the doors are locked. Because of the comfort and safety they provided to automotive users, this device quickly gained worldwide acceptance.
