Aerosol spray cans

Invented by – Lyle David Goodloe and W.N. Sullivan

Lyle David Goodloe and W.N. Sullivan devised aerosol spray cans in 1941. It was the first aerosol can, a container with a spray nozzle that contains a propellant, such as a liquefied gas like fluorocarbon. During World War II, they were working for the US Department of Agriculture, trying to develop a means to spray and kill malaria-carrying mosquitos for the soldiers stationed overseas. Aerosol spray is a sort of dispensing device that produces a liquid mist in the form of an aerosol mist. It was also a completely homogeneous combination.

Deodorant

Invented by – Edna Murphey

Edna Murphey created deodorant and founded the Odorono deodorant brand. Edna discovered that this antiperspirant worked well on her underarms and began marketing it to ladies. There had been numerous deodorant/antiperspirant inventions before Murphey's, but Murphey's was the first to gain widespread distribution. Murphy named the deodorant Odorono (Odor-o-no) and founded the Odorono Company. The crimson liquid was supposed to be applied three times a week at night and then sprinkled with talcum powder. Odorono (pronounced Odo-or-no) was a difficult sale. The majority of people believed antiperspirants were either unnecessary or dangerous. Men were expected to have a musky odor, but women did not discuss such topics in public at the time.

The Z3 computer

Invented by – Konrad Zuse

In 1941, the Z3 computer was finished. The Z3, an early computer designed by German engineer Konrad Zuse who worked in complete isolation from other advances, employs 2,300 relays, does floating point binary arithmetic, and has a word length of 22 bits. It was the world's first completely autonomous, programmable digital computer. Before being destroyed in late 1943 during a bombing strike on Berlin, the Z3 was utilized for aerodynamic calculations. In the 1960s, Zuse oversaw the rebuilding of the Z3, which is now on exhibit at the Deutsches Museum in Munich.

Neutronic reactor

Invented by – Enrico Fermi

Enrico Fermi was an Italian-born American scientist who was a key figure in the development of the nuclear era. In 1941, he invented the neutronic reactor. A neutronic reactor is described that achieves neutron moderation largely in its reflector. The reactor is made up of an annular space created by a cylindrical central "island" of moderator and a spherical moderating reflector dispersed from it. He created the mathematical statistics needed to explain a wide range of subatomic phenomena, investigated nuclear changes produced by neutrons, and directed the first controlled nuclear fission chain reaction.
