LiquiGlide

Invented by – Prof. Kripa Varanasi

In the year 2012, Kripa Varnasi invented Liquiglide. Five MIT students and their professor, Kripa Varanasi, have devised a method for creating a surface that will allow anything to glide off it, from ketchup out of bottles to ice off aeroplane wings. The plant-based substance coats practically any material with a tiny slippery coating, including glass, ceramic, metal, and plastic. Among the possible uses are boosting the flow rate of condiment bottles to reduce food waste and eliminating obstructions in gas and oil tubes. The developers posted footage of LiquiGlide being used in plastic and glass ketchup, mayonnaise, jelly, and mustard bottles.

Eliodomestico Solar Water Distiller

Invented by – Gabriele Diamanti

Gabriele Diamanti, a freelance designer, designed this solar-powered distiller for use in third-world coastal locations without access to freshwater. It's half the price of present models and 67 percent more efficient, and he hopes that local manufacturers will adopt the open-source design and mass-produce it for local use. Eliodomestico is a solar-powered household water distiller designed for impoverished nations. It uses sea water to give drinking water to families at no cost to the organisation. It operates like an upside-down coffee maker: the sun's heat builds steam pressure in the black waterproof boiler during the day. Steam is driven down through the expansion nozzle and condenses on the lid.

Enable Talk Gloves

Invented by – Ukrainian students

Four Ukrainian students have developed gloves that allow persons who are deaf or hard of hearing to communicate with people who don't know or comprehend sign language. The gloves have sensors that recognise sign language and convert it to text on a smartphone, which is subsequently converted to spoken words.

Nike Flyknit Racer

Invented by – Nike

Nike released the Nike Flyknit Racer in 2012. Engineers at Nike not only made this sneaker lighter (5.6 oz., 160 g) but also gave it a precise fit by knitting thread into a single layer to fit around your foot instead of cutting and stitching together different materials. It's also environmentally friendly, as there's less waste on the factory floor. Because the new Nike shoe is comprised of a single layer of thread, it will fit your foot better.

Motion-Activated Screwdriver

Invented by – Black & Decker

The motion-activated screwdrivers were first introduced in 2012 by Black and Decker. Black & Decker's cordless 4v MAX Gyro, marketed as the world's first motion-activated screwdriver, incorporates the sensors found in smart phones and Nintendo Wii controllers. An internal gyroscope senses wrist motions, which are measured by a small microprocessor, which converts those motions into changes in the drill's speed and direction. Tilt it right by a quarter of an inch, and it screws clockwise to tighten; tilt it left, and it screws counterclockwise—all thanks to an internal gyroscope that senses wrist motions, which are measured by a small microprocessor, which converts those movements into changes in the
